Metroland Media is looking for a reliable, energetic adult news carrier to take on open news routes, not having local permanent carriers in Orleans. Specific area where help is needed is Springridge (off Trim Rd. in Orleans) This will be door to door delivery of The Orleans News community newspaper with pre-inserted advertiser flyers. During Fall and Winter, we require someone willing to take on approx. 400-500 homes per week. Note that, the average route is 80-100 homes and takes approximately 45 mins to 1 hour to deliver each route. Routes may change slightly week to week, taking in effect new local hires. However, we can guarantee 400-500 doors per week in a set area. Each week, your route maps will be printed for you. The chosen applicant will be required to pick up the newspapers at our warehouse on 80 Colonnade Road, Ottawa each week. Papers can be picked up anytime after 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, by noon on Wednesdays. You have all day Wednesday and Thursday, by 8:30 p.m. Thursday, to have your routes completed. The pay is 14 cents per door ($1.40 for every 10 homes) for delivering The newspaper with our pre-inserted flyers. Carriers are always paid more for separate, non-inserted special advertisements, like door-hangers for example. 100 homes x $0.14 per home = $14.00.
